Gold Hill Founders Day

Great Heritage and Craft and Music Festival is held each September on the third Saturday. The day begins at 9am with Arts, Crafts, Heritage Living Displays, Gold Panning and more throughout the park. The Founders Day Parade begins at 10am followed by Entertainment at the Amphitheater at 11am. History Hayrides take place throughout the afternoon through the 70 acre park to sites including the Gold Hill Pond and the Powder House. The North Carolina Bluegrass Association will host music at the Amphitheater and an open Jam at the Log Barn. A Civil War Living History Encampment will be set up at the Log Barn and will demonstrate a skirmish at 5:30pm. Children can join the fun of finding gold nuggets hidden throughout the park. The nuggets can be used during the festival to purchase select items at the Park Information Booth or at the E.H. Montgomery General Store in the village. The Gold Hil Fire Department will host a kids safety area and will include a Fire House Safety Training Unit. Check out more about Gold Hill on the website at: http://www.historicgoldhill.com
